I get the excitement of winning the conference. But in the case of my team, win and you get a date with some crappy Big East team in the Orange Bowl, woohoo.

How much more exciting would this weekend be if they were playing for an 8 team playoff. Oregon,Houston,Georgia,Boise State,Virginia Tech, Oklahoma State,Wisconsin,UCLA,Oklahoma would likely all be playing for a chance to get in. And it would likely make the conference championships even more meaningful as they'd likely get a playoff spot, instead of a crappy BCS bowl bid. It would probably be the most anticipated weekend of the college football year, instead of a fairly meaningless one.

It is all the bowls that seem so silly now. It used to be better before they went to a nc game. At least then, they'd have the 2 best teams mixed in the traditional bowls, instead of having them removed. Looks like this year, only one of the bcs bowls has a shot at giving us a decent match up.
