It's the Muppets....there is going to be musical numbers. If you didn't expect it you didn't grow up with them and likely will not have the same fondness for the movie.

My 3 and 5 year old loved it. Especially the 5 year old who was glued to the screen the entire show (she also "crammed" for the last couple of weeks by watching the third season of the Muppet show....the season with Alice Cooper as one of the special guests).

Bad acting? no. Cheesy acting that intentionally isn't taking itself seriously. It's very nudge nudge wink wink.

Highly recommended as a family movie. Especially for those that grew up watching the Muppet show and first couple of Muppet movies.
