I don't have any experience with that camera, but I started almost the exact same thread a while ago. I ended up getting the Canon G12 and have absolutely no regrets. Best camera I've owned and the best pictures I've ever taken. The Auto mode takes great pics in a wide variety of conditions and there are also tons of options for manual settings. Probably would fit in a big pocket, but I prefer to have it in a smaller Lowepro bag. There is the option to get different lenses for it too, for more zoom, but you need to order them online.
