Right now? Alabama with the only other teams in the argument being Oklahoma State and Arkansas. But it's about finding out the teams at the end of the season and if LSU beats Arkansas and OU beats Okla. St. then it's pretty clear cut.
Either way, it's a ridiculous season to ask that question because any sort of post-season system simply wouldn't make sense this season. If LSU beats Arkansas they're clearly the best team in the country and any additional games would actually hurt the credibility of the national title. I'm not saying that should happen, but there-in lies the problem in college football - it's nearly impossible to come up with a post-season method that finds the best team every single season.
And you still haven't answered my question about how this week would've been better with a playoff system.
