Politics is the art of negotiating. Their platform is their starting point, but if they were involved in policy making, things wouldn't occur word-for-word like their platform says. It never happens for the Liberals or Conservatives, so why would it for the Greens? There is always compromise in a democracy. Of course, how much compromise depends on the power of the ruling party compared to the opposition. I wouldn't expect, or necessarily want, the Green Party to be in a position of great power, but I think their voice is important enough that they should at least be involved in negotiating policy. That is why I support them.

I also see validity in the Conservative, Liberal, and NDP platforms and think they all deserve to be involved, but I support no party 100%. I want a particular balance in the government.
