I think Nenshi is a great mayor, and handling this well. I think every mayor dealing with an Occupy movement, without Nenshi being singled out, is dealing with this on a similar level. It's a fine line to draw between civil liberties and enforcing the law, I agree. I don't like the protest in Olympic Plaza, but I'm very happy Council has been lenient about the whole thing until now. They have cordially allowed the protestors to do their schtick for as long as they could.
In more turbulent cities around the world, there'd be much less desirable outcomes in situations such as these (violence, brutality). Thank God we don't take that route. Violence is never the answer to anything.
