Spoken like someone who has never played a high level of hockey or had kids in a high level of hockey.
The refs are being paid to be there, and its not to much to ask they know the rules. Nor is it ridiculous to question the reffing when their lack of knowledge of the rules and poor reffing puts the players safety at risk.
