We used to play full on tackle football at recess in grades 4-8 (until we discovered the arcades) at recess. No gear, no helmets, just a bunch of kids looking tackle each other as hard as we could in hopes of getting a fumble and scoring a touch down and laughing at the other team. It's amazing how a group of good friends can quickly turn to wanting to crush each other for an hour and then back to being good friends.

Besides, breaking something as a kid is a learning lesson. You learn to experience pain, have a cool cast, and getting people to sign the cast!

Pfft! My buddies and I were playing tackle football with no gear just about every sunday right up until the end of university.
