Not commenting on the house itself (not a huge fan of a lot of it), but pretty much everything you said is borderline ignorant. The only thing that looks visually "cheaped out" is the dining set and dishwasher.

Not enough counter top space looks like quite a good amount, and again, has to fit within the actual kitchen itself.

Not really "decked out to the nines", but the additional cabinets on top are pricey. Not useful since you'll need a step ladder to access them god are you serious?. Would have been better as display cabinets, glass with lighting inside.
