Default John Ramage

Story (mostly) about Rob Ramage and the relationship with John Ramage. Interesting little read.

Canada02 has a link to another Ramage article in the prospects thread.

I haven't seen John Ramage play a lot, mostly World Junior games and a bit with Wisconsin, but he strikes me as a defenseman that plays with heart, hustle, and hockey IQ rather than natural talent. He may have limited offensive upside, but from what I have seen he has the ability to make a good first pass.

Ramage doesn't get a lot of attention since he's not flashy and playing NCAA hockey, but I think he could fill an important role with the Flames in a couple of years.

I have tried to think of a NHL comparable in terms of style of play and two players come to mind: Andrew Ference and Stephane Robidas. If Ramage were to progress and end up like either of those two, I would be pleased with the 4th round selection.
