I don't have any stories from family from the wars as neither of my Grandfathers spoke of their experiences. This day has always been important to me as I have always been proud and grateful for the sacrifice of so many that allow me to have the life I live today.
This year however, I am overwhelmed with such profound gratitude and respect as I watched my baby boy peacefully sleep last night. He will never have to grow up faced with oppression or tyranny thanks to the incredible sacrifices made by these brave men and women. I am so deeply, deeply grateful and so proud to be Canadian. Thank you to all who have fallen and to all who still stand.
