Hahaha, what? When did I say it was "useless" or "meaningless"? I said I don't wear them because I don't want to. It's my choice. I also said I still donate, which I do quite frequently. I don't know about you, but to me that isn't ignoring it. This is exactly how I get jumped on whenever I people see me not wearing a poppy.
I don't need to advertise the fact that I have great respect for soldiers, current and past. I don't need to wear a banner that screams "Look at me! I remember you for November!" I bought a "Support the Troops" magnet, but I didn't put it on my vehicle. I've sent letters and care packages to my friends in Afghanistan, but I didn't make a Facebook status about it, or wear a sign that says "look at my deed, what have
you done today?" I speak to soliders or veterans when I see them, but I don't go on telling everyone else.
I don't wear a poppy, so what? You do, and that's great. We all have a choice in the matter, and it's not about respect. It's about not wanting to wear a poppy.
