One interesting point Mark Madden made in an interview with a PA radio station is that State College is "different" in the sense that it operates much like a Fiefdom, or a company town that was more reminiscent of the late 19th early 20th C. United States, and that Paterno and the whole program has an awful lot of power, money and influence (of course, the same could be said to a lot of high-powered collegiate programs).
Madden was also in another interview rather insistent that he is pretty sure that another story will break about involving this story about Sandusky's pimping out kids to rich donors through his foundation.

I'd seen this online but was loathe to mention it as it had no source, if that turns out to be true god knows how it will reflect on the NCAA and college football in general but you can expect at least a senate comittee ala steroids in baseball.
