Indeed...shot myself with my stick nailer (third time in 20 years) the other day.

Cut it off, pulled it through, and wrapped it with electrical tape...back to work. I was using salvaged (hard) lumber again...just like the last time.
Hit a knot and away she goes.

1/4 inch lower and I would have lost my index finger on my right hand.

My poppy never fell off of my jacket lapel during the above mentioned incident either.

Nor did I "prick" myself with it...even when I was leaning into the linesman pliers to cut the haed of the b*stard off, so I could pull it through my finger.

I probably would have been ok on Juno Beach...

Respect the troops. Their sacrifice made it possible for us to be here discussing the "dangers" posed by the common poppy.
