The Minnesota Wild are pleased to announce the acquisition of Derek Roy.

The elite centre joins the club along with a 2nd round pick - while Michael Grabner and Mikkael Boedker are heading to Chicago.

GM Farhall:
"Our record is strong but our underlying stats or not - we are one of the worst offensive teams in the league despite having huge fire power. For the most part our 2nd line has been not delivering but feel Derek can change this".

Roy is expected to skate with Jason Pominville and Marian Hossa on the 2nd unit - while Oli Jokinen will now anchor the 3rd line.
