Almost took a cyclist out today but I'm not sure if it was my fault or his.
Heading north on 8th Street SW by the Sandman, I was in the right-hand shoulder lane, turning right into the alley between 7th and 6th avenues.
Obviously being in the right lane I did not expect anyone to be between me and the curb when I turned, I shoulder-checked for pedestrians and turned into the alley and boom he appeared out of nowhere and just about took my mirror off.
I had my right turn indicator on for almost half a block before I turned, would that have been his fault? Assuming he is abiding by the rules of the road and acting as a vehicle you would think that he would not try and pass someone on the right when they are about to turn right, no?
