It's tough to just nominate two, but I'll give it a try.

My first nomination goes to La Belle Patate in Canmore for their meat lover's poutine. I swear, I've never had poutine this good before. They have slippery cheese curds, topped with bacon, pepporoni, ham, sausage, and gravy. It's worth the drive up to Canmore just to have it once. The La Belle Burger is also something to behold - they give you four thick strips of bacon on the burger, and top it off with this special coleslaw that doesn't taste like anything I've ever had. I'm not a big fan of coleslaw, so I know something is good when they make something I don't like taste amazing.

My second nomination goes to the Chicken Shawarma at Shawarma Station in Kensington. Their spicy hummus puts it over the top for me, and it's the best shwarma I've had in Calgary. A little pricey however, but in terms of taste, nothing else beats it.

Honorable mentions go to:

- Jimmy's A&A Mediterranean Diner for their beef donair. The taste is above average for a donair, but the stuff the donair with so much meat, while other places give you only two or three slices. Shawarma Station beats it on taste, but this place has it beat for the amount of meat they stuff into your pita bread.

- Ribs from Holy Smoke Barbeque. These are by far the best ribs I've tasted in Calgary. The huge amount of sauces you can choose from also give a pretty good variety of tastes.

- Fish and Chips from Stone Hill Restaurant in Harvest Hills. I went to Seattle a few years ago. Seattle is known for their fish and chips. The fish and chips in this restaurant are comparable to what you could get in Seattle, I think.
