What leaves you underwhelmed? I think Canada's film industry albeit small is severely underappreciated by the public. The movies nominated this year are all excellent. I've seen CRAZY, Water and Pete Tong and they are all excellent films. Another good one was by Canadian director David Cronenberg, A History of Violence.
Sure Canadian movies don't have the computer graphics, car chases, and mind numbing explosions but that doesn't mean they can't be excellent films in their own right.
My favourite all time Canadian film? Wow, tough one.
