my golden retrevier and I weighed about the same (I was slightly more), we'd play fight all the time. I loved it as I stopped playing hockey about a year or so before we got him, he helped keep my reflexes keen and sharp. That said he could really give me a go, I'm not a strong guy so when we'd fight I was all quick movement and reflex reactions. Mind you, when visitors would come, when Turk was younger, we'd have to watch him if they wanted to play as he was a big dog - but he really truly thought that the sole purpose of every living creature on earth was to play with him.
After reading the article I'm questioning why no one was watching the 6 yr old and the dog. The article said their dog was 69lbs. My guy was 115-120 and wasn't fat... was it still a puppy? If so, 6 yr old + large puppy + playing in the yard = someone should be watching.
Sad regardless, a real shame as something like that should have been avoidable.
