While I somewhat believe the guy about turning the job to follow through on the what the Jays have done, I'm always skeptial of managements' positive spin on everything. Why would he go through the entire interview process to turn them down saying he'd rather stay with the Jays. He probably wasn't happy with the terms and conditions of the reporting structure. You don't go through the whole process to turn away last minute saying you'll stay.
