How can you know so little about group dynamics to not know taking their shelter, personal belongings and toilets (still can't believe that one) would cause a problem? I'm talking just on an intuitive level. You honestly don't see how a cop rolling up somebody's tent, face-to-face with the tent owner, wouldn't obviously lead to a physical altercation? Come on.
They are being perfectly peaceful, which is why they aren't really a problem that needs to be solved with force.

Kind of, yes. Because it's a smart plan, particularly as opposed to your awful one.

Hardly. Let's deal with this one-off situation as the one-off situation it is. We're not setting any precedent. If the next group want to camp and we don't want them to, we won't let them. It's that simple. The timing of this one - potentially days before a cold snap - gives us this much better option that you can't seem to understand.
