Generally I'm a person who gets very, very afraid during scary movies. I'm easily submersed in film, and I empathize very easily with developed characters, whether I like them or not.

All of that is killed for me when I see people acting in bizarre and what are to me, nonsensical actions. For instance, running up the stairs in a slasher movie. The best fear is the one developed from terror despite your best efforts, and the relentlessness of zombies is all about that.

The only real moment the series has generated for me in that way is when they end up at the CDC. That made sense, and was much scarrier when you thought that, even though they made what was probably the correct decision, it STILL could be their downfall.

Setting yourself up to be ambushed by zombies, and subsequently being ambushed by zombies isn't terribly scary to me. The fact that even as someone who easily empathizes with onscreen characters can't connect with these ones leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

A crossbow? Really? I get that they are badass, quieter than a gun and translate well in comics, but the idea of walking around with a crossbow as your primary weapon during the zombiepocalypse is nutty. You'd be better off with a regular bow.

Things like that take me out of it. I watch the show now to see how they'll inevitably kill him off during a scene where he either runs out of bolts or can't reload them in time.

Why are you even here?

Why watch something you dislike, never mind go so far as to explain your thoughts about it to - and argue with - strangers on the internet?

I knew I shouldn't have clicked on this thread. Any time there's a thread about a TV show or a Movie it seems inundated by people who have no motivation other than to explain to others how they dislike it.

Why even bother with any of it then?
