There is nothing special about what I do, I never claimed that. I am a glorified cashier to be honest. In fact a lot of days I wish I did do something different. But I still take a ton of pride in my work and put everything I have into it. And it is what I am good at. If someone loves what they do, no matter what it is, that is what matters most I suppose. I wish I had that passion to truely love it like I used to, but after a while, I think any career can become stale unless you are piloting rockets, or are the Hawaiin tropic oil boy. I have a friend who is a geologist pulling down 250 a year, and he HATES his job.
However, I highly doubt, if you were to survey 100 people working in the fast food industry, the majority of them are not there because it is a chosen career path. They are there for necessity, and because they need to make a living somehow. I have been there myself, I was a frikking Panago delivery guy for the better part if a year, and I can tell you, I didn't look forward to showing up at the office per se. But I did not have the balls to walk into the EI office, and sit on my ass for six months when I knew I could do something other than be a bum...anything but that. If I had no other choice, I wouldn't and haven't turned my nose up at crappy jobs, and I have said all along, that is a far more noble and respectable path than these squatters are taking by a factor of 1000. Hence the get a job, losers.. comment.
