Many people who are sympathetic or don't want to be there occupying 24/7 will donate food, as away of helping out without. Again, it's hard to fathom but not everyone on the entire planet thinks it's a waste of time. Similar to not everyone on the entire planet thinks the tea party is a waste of time.

2) The DC occupy group doesn't seam to have the same issues with the homeless population that usually inhabit McPherson Square, it's helped bring more attention to the situation.

Can't vouch for the New York one as I don't have first hand experience, but it seams like the real question is about public safety and the criminal element.

I don't know, but I'd be curious to see more information come out and not just from the NY Post.

3) Where can I buy this slurpee machine that you speak of. It sounds fantastic.
Patent pending, you didn't hear a thing.

And if it is truly donated by the farmers, then maybe they should be asking to replace it with cash donations so that they can feed more of the hopeless.

I get the public safety issues and crime elements, but they were talking about the Calgary group downtown today and they mentioned that there is a criminal element sneaking into it and its not really the poor and downtrodden as much as the middle class and bored.
