^^ I saw that quote (and the one from the Glasgow guy) and wondered if these people were as dumb as they sound.

The issue with 'riding it out' is that there might not be electricity or water for three days or more - this is Mexico! When Wilma hit, the airport had to close for two or three days, and hotels had closed and tourists had to stay at shelters. I remember how people had to drive to Merida for flights -- and taxis were charging $300 or more for the drive.
