There are a lot of people in Saint John that are pretty upset right now. I'm not sure I agree with them; the Saint John shipyard probably wouldn't have been able to survive the 10 years between the date of its closure and the awarding of this project, even though it supposedly would have been better qualified for this scale of construction.
I am at least happy that it stayed in the Maritimes; to me, it wouldn't have made sense to build them elsewhere. |
