It is not just NB it is in every new community in Calgary. It is easier to go undetected when your house is just built and you don't have neighbors or have time to build relationships with those around you. Not to mention all the speculators who built homes to flip and couldn't and just rented them out without proper tenant screening to not lose money.

That goes to say build those relationships with the people around your house so you know who and what is living around your block and report anything suspicious to the Police and your property will be fine 99% of the time.
