Advanced High School Diplomas?
So we are cleaning up some old junk in our basement and my wife pulls my HS diploma out of a box and is confused that it is an "advanced" diploma. So I explained that the year I graduated, they introduced the new curriculum in HS which removed the advanced as a possibility, so by the time she got into High School (5 years later) everyone who would have got an advanced was already done.
In trying to explain how the new curriculum was different, I mentioned the science classes were changed - I took Chem/Physics (or Bio/Chem) 10 and 20 whereas people afterwords took Science 10 and then Physics, Bio and Chem 20 and 30. Another changed was from Math 10/20/30 to Pure Math and Math 13/23/33 to Applied Math. She claims that when she went to HS ( In Chestermere) it was like it was when I was in school.
Am I remembering these events properly? Or were they 2 separate events and CBE changed the classes where RockyView School district didn't - even though the diploma changes would have been province wide?
