Was reading this thread, and totally forgot about Swype. I got a Galaxy S a few months ago, owned a Blackberry previous. Texting on the Blackberry was much easier then this stupid touch screen.
Just started using swype... INFINITELY better then the touch screen keyboard i was using. My wife has been complaining about my misspellings ever since i switched phones. I've only sent out a few text messages to play around with Swype. It will take awhile to get used to, but I see why its so much better then the touch screen keyboard.
As for broken screens. I seem to see alot of apple products with cracked screens. I've got two friends with cracked screens on their iphones. Seems like if you don't get an otterbox (or something of that nature) with it you best be damned carefull. Both accidents occured while friends had their phone out of the otterbox to clean it or whatever it is they were doing. One accident was while a friend had his phone on his lap while driving and it fell to the floor. Not an extreme drop by any stretch of the imagination. I've dropped my phone a few times already and all I have on it is the dinky back cover they give you and I've had no issues with it being dropped.
Not sure why people complaining about the cheap feel from a Samsung phone. They feel like a well built phone. Seems like a weak argument as to why not to like a product. If they added some weight to it with a heavier battery or if they secured small pebbles all through out the phone to make it heavier would it magically feel more well built?
