I've seen the 99% poster people. Really sad stories, Americans working in areas like IT, trades for 30 years got laid off and can barely pay the bills. That wouldn't happen here.

To be fair whatever happens in America spills over the border and it sometimes takes time to work through the system but it is all inter-connected. America is over 50% of the world economy and Canada is around 3% so there is reason to pay attention to what happens there. I guess you could say their problems become our problems and although things are ok here now economically Canada is still a tall midget economically when you put things to scale. What makes you so sure that wouldn't happen here? Maybe these protestors are ahead of the curve and are offering a wake up call
