I work as a lawyer, more specifically in Plaintiff side personal injury. There are many many lawyers who are 50-60+ years old. Seem to be not that many aged 35-50 and a fair number aged 35 or younger, although each year more and more drop out of the industry.
I think the bigger issue is with complex corporate work. Seems as though all the guys who actually know how to do it and actually have the connections to bring in customers are 60+ and everyone else is doing relatively mindless grunt work. A lot of companies have been training people to be lower level workers and very few train people to actually do the upper level work.
