If Danielle Smith wanted to respond to media by saying something like "Stephen did some good work for us and we wish him well. We had assumed that his financial issues were resolved when he was last under our employ." I think that would've been enough. Its not like this was unheard of before today, and obviously not unknown to the WRA.
The other parties have put out releases on issues. That's the point of departure. This shouldn't be an issue.

If the WRA wants to talk about their plans to privatize healthcare or eliminate CPP that's fine...those are issues. Going after a guy because he has some debts hanging over his head though is pretty bush league.

You have chosen to believe that the party somehow influenced national media to pick up on this story. That's not true, but clearly I can't convince you otherwise.
