I have a 2011 Touareg TDI. Awesome, awesome vehicle. It's full of gadgets (I loooove gadgets) and is seriously economical for what you get. Probably the best vehicle I've ever owned.
However; it's not without its gremlins. Most notably electrical things (guages, switches, displays) that are constantly on the fritz. Their service (at least South Center fine car on Macleod Trail) is iffy and pricey. They did a bunch of work for me, charged me for the repair at top dollar, and all the problems popped back up (nothing major, just little warning lights that came on for no reason). I gave them a poor rating on the survey, saying I wanted to get called back on it, and that was 4 months ago. Still no call back to follow up from them. I doubt I will ever go back to them based on this, and some of the ridiculous answers they had to my questions.
Anyways, what I've been told is stay away from the lines made in Mexico. Try to buy the vehicles manufactured in Germany.
