But you are right about the injuries part. He'd be subjecting himself to a lot of being tackled/hit unlike he normally would in a basketball game. He'd also be making less money than some European basketball team would offer to pay him.
I think Lebron would be absolutely terrible if he attempted to just show up and play. Football and basketball are very different sports, and your training reflects that. He's not training to get off of a 250lb LB that's allowed to hit him, he's training to deal with a sport where there's contact but certainly not at anywhere near the same scale. He'd never get off the line without spending a considerable amount of time working on those skills.

I actually don't think he'd be good even if he put in the time. He's shown he doesn't like it when the going gets tough, and there's not many things tougher than getting smacked around by a guy like James Harrison. He'd disappear after a couple of plays.
