And even then, that ending set up the perfect plot device to explain why every alien everywhere is humanoid. The Pegasus and Lower Decks were also amazing season seven episodes - both of which broke the "Happy, friendly Federation where everything turns out right in the end" mold. And season six's Timescape I love just for this scene:

Oh Six and Seven had some great episodes as well. I loved Chain of Command, I agree that Gambit is underrated. However Season Seven had Sub Rosa. *shudders*
