CALGARY — A bike lane that popped up over the weekend on 10th Street N.W. has infuriated motorists and frustrated some cyclists, who say city officials have not done enough to let the public know about changes to the route.

A southbound traffic lane of 10th Street has been removed to make room for the new bike lane, one of the city’s longest, running from 23rd Avenue, past SAIT, to 5th Avenue N.W.

Drivers heading south to the Kensington business district and the downtown Monday morning were greeted to long delays and new road markings which confused both cyclists and motorists.
