Icon40 Pens '11-12 Preview: Sedin among the biggest question marks?

Nobody will be on a tighter leash then Daniel Sedin when the 2011 CPHL season kicks off in a few days. Brought in with his brother to bring the underachieving Penguins to the next level; things didn’t go as planned. Henrik was shipped off due to the deep center depth, but maybe it was the other brother who should have been moved.

That is the glaring achievement that stands out from the Pens team’s stat. That stat is the worst +/- in the entire league. If Sedin doesn’t pick up his play fast he will be on the next plane out of town.

The Pens will head into this season with more pressure than they ever had before. They have the team to be dominant, but a history of being mediocre. With two big veteran workhorses on the blueline in Lidstrom and Pronger and a top line that can match any in the league this team must get to the next level.

If they don’t get there, and get there fast Sedin will be only the first casualty. Here is what the Pens are looking like heading into game 1. This team has an internal goal of 100 points. Anything less will be a letdown.
