Yes, it can be somewhat annoying as a Calgarian, but it's a pretty unique event and visitors from all over the world love it.

my employer lets me wear jeans for a week, sends me invites to all these company parties to get free food and booze, and gives me a paid day off to get plastered on the company's dime. i really don't care about the rest of Stampede, that right there makes it awesome
