I used to pride myself on being able to tolerate really hot foods. One day I was visiting a friend's house and he told me I should try a pepper a relative had brought back from Trinidad; being young and foolish I just bit into it. I felt like my head was going to explode. I don't know exactly what type it was (I'm pretty sure it wasn't a Trinidad Scorpion Butch T pepper since no one was wearing hazmat gear).

I also learned the hard way about washing your hands after handling or eating hot peppers during another incident; I must've brushed my hand near my eye because about half an hour after touching a pepper at a Vietnamese restaurant my eyes were burning. Even after flushing my eyes with water I was in agony for about an hour.
