I was 20 when I moved out to take a job out of town. My mom to this day would still let me move back home though.
I knew a lot of others my age who never wanted to pay rent a day in their life, made over $20 an hour (in the 90's in BC when that wasn't a ###### bag wage either) but would blow $350 at the bar on a Friday night, and still lived at home. I don't think my Dad would have let that one go. He'd have been pissed I didn't spend that money golfing. In hindsight, it did prepare me though, as trying to make ends meet on $10 an hour taught me to be frugle. Prepared me for a future, of crappy earnings, but still allow me to eat!
