So, what would you have preferred? Another vote in two weeks with just Mar and Redford's names on the ballot, where everyone who voted for Horner today would have changed their votes, presumably to the person they selected as their second choice today, and the result would have been the same?
I don't believe party leaderships in Canada have ever been chosen in first-past-the-post votes, they're always a process of elimination like this. They could have done another run-off, but doing it the way they did streamlines the process and presumably yields the same result.
