Only one Steelseries keyboard is mechanical and it uses very different switches than the Razer which uses Cherry MX Blues. The Steelseries G6v2 uses Cherry MX Black keyswitches. All the other Steelseries keyboards use a rubber membrane sheet under the plastic keys instead of individual switches.

The issue is not really between quality between brands but when picking a mechanical keyboard, it's the key switches which matter. The switches for both are made by Cherry but blacks are a different design from blues.
Cherry MX Black (as in Steelseries G6)
Cherry MX Blue (as in Razer)
