The task list within gmail isn't very good - extremely basic - but I have no idea how that would change if you're using the Remember the Milk addons. It looks like it would be a drastic improvement over the regular gmail task lists.
edit: I may actually try that out for myself, as I've been frustrated with the gmail task lists lately.
edit: yup, Remember the Milk adds a lot of functionality that the Gmail task list doesn't have. works very well together! I think I'm going to switch over to it.
