Well I wasn't there so I'm not sure how private he was trying to be about it. There were probably patrons on the other side of him as well, Sliver just happened to be on the side he picked.
Is it possible he wasn't taking every possible effort not to upset or gross out fellow patrons? Sure. Heck, it may be even possible he's one of those exceptionally rude and weird people that LIKES to make people feel weird and uses excuses to do it. But I doubt it. I can't make calls on any of this. I do feel that there needs to be more understanding though.
As for the wasted meal, well I'm not sure how seriously to take that comment. It's not something he's doing on purpose to spoil your meal. It's something he needs to do. And trust me, it's not something that he's looking forward to doing. I don't know what the options were that were available to him, but at a point it starts getting a little silly. Like walking to the car? Seriously? What if they're parked several blocks away? Take it outside? So he looks like a junkie shooting in the street? Not to mention doing it sitting down is going to be easier then doing it leaned up against a building. When people start saying stuff like this it's getting to the realm where people with disabilities are being treated like second class citizens.
