To be honest, it is likely going to be tough to pass any referendum to increase taxes in Calgary. We do not like taxes here. However, if the project is deemed worthy enough it will be passed by the majority.

Democracy at it's purest is user fees. If you want something pay for it (by going there). If you don't, don't.
