I actually felt bad for Marty Schottenheimer in that game. I watched a NFL network show about best coaches to never win a Superbowl. There's a clip of Marty telling him before that last drive, if you get the pick don't worry about the return, drop to the ground and let them touch you....What does he do?
Than you have Kaeding not hitting field goals. The media rips Schottenheimer for being too conservative, but if he has a kicker with any type of clutch blood in his body, that Charger team likely at least gets to the Superbowl.
