I mean it's good, probably very good, but way too many people consider it to be the greatest movie ever made. Just my opinion of course, but I just don't think it's better then movies like Carlito's Way, Donnie Brasco, The Unouchables, Heat, or Goodfellas.

I find myself being forced to watch it constantly whenever buddies are over for poker or whatever, but I just don't think it's that great. Even the Muni version from the 30's is a better film. Heck I bet I could name more then 5 Pacino movies that are better than Scarface (The Godfather, The Godfather Part II, Heat, Serpico, Donnie Brasco, Insomnia, even The Insider, or Glengarry Glen Ross).
Very fair comment. It does get a lot of buzz. The cult following behind it is ridiculous and the relationship between hip hop and this movie is a bit much as well. People treat it like it's the best thing to happen to film making in a long time, when it couldn't be farther from the truth.

I said it's my number one movie of all time, but it's my favorite movie of all time. Not what I think is the best. Huge difference.

Scarface was panned by critics like crazy when it came out. It's far from a flawless movie.

I love Scarface because it's infinitely quotable(see tags, my favorite line), Tony Montana is an awesome character, Pacino did a hell of a job, the story is simple, but effective, the dialogue is real, the music, the tone, etc, I could go on and on. I love this movie. But I understand your overrated comment. I just don't agree with it.
