I've heard the same from alot of people and experienced it myself.

Unfortunately, I think the key word for the hot job market is "experienced". Lots of companies need people but they aren't willing to take the time and effort to train anyone...this is really bad in the trades. They want someone with built in experience to step right in. They aren't victims of a hot market but victims of their own short sightednesss.
