Also keep in mind that a lot of kids are simply vapid. I was talking to my sister in law who is in her mid 20's and works in the music/concert field. When I asked her to let me know when Neil Young was coming around town, she asked me who that was.
I dunno about you guys, but I didn't have to grow up with the Beatles or Buddy Holly to know who they are. Frankly, most of my favorite music was made before I was born.
