Generally, I find casual smokers to be nicer, more social people, precisely because smoking seems to be one of the few things where near or complete strangers can still strike up random conversations. The militant non-smokers are almost always holier-than-thou pricks.

There seemed to be a tone, but not all, no. The post wasn't necessarily meant to be toward all the smokers who posted here, but also to those smokers who do in fact stand directly in front of the doorway.
